Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed In 2007 a new concept inspired by a chronometer made in 1880.
The Duomètre collection is based on the idea of using two separate mechanisms; one to guarantee the basic function, i.e. acurate time measurement and the other to handle additional watch complications. Both mechanisms are synchronised by a common regulator and each mechanism has its own power source.
This system ensures that the chronometer function and the additional functions resulting from the complications of the watch are equally effective.
